Artist Bio: Shana Welkin Kestrel

Spreadsheet maker & numbers cruncher by day; intuitive, self-taught artist in all the hours in-between, I live and work in Somers Point, NJ. I have been creating art since childhood. After a profound visit to the Mojave desert in 2018, I made the commitment to my creative self to apply as much effort to creating art as I have devoted to my career in finance; for it is art that allows me to find my sanity in this chaotic and confusing world. My inspiration comes to me through nature, dreams and my shamanic lifestyle. I work in acrylics and mixed media, but I also work in watercolor, gouache, fiber art and landscape design. My work can be seen at Nashville North Studios in Linwood. I also have an art studio and gallery in my backyard. Private viewings are available by appointment.
